SKATEWIZ

Knee and elbow pads for kids

Kids fall — that's how they learn. The right pad set turns a crash into a shrug: knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards sized for children from age 3, in designs they'll actually want to wear.

Choosing pads your kid will keep on

For ages 3–8, start with the 99FLIPS FLASH set: it is GS-certified by TÜV Rheinland, comes in five bright colorways, and the extra-long closures adjust from skinny to sturdy builds. From about age 9, kids fit the S and M/L sizes of our SKATEWIZ sets — SMASH for skatepark sessions,IMPACT if the pads should fit under school clothes.

Fit matters more than anything: measure wrist, forearm and thigh, then check the chart on each product page or in thesize guide. When your young skater outgrows the kids sizes, the same sets continue into teen and adult sizes.

Safety is documented, not promised: our children's products sold in the United States are independently lab-tested to the applicable U.S. CPSC requirements for children's products (CPSIA), and the 99FLIPS sets additionally carry the German GS mark, certified by TÜV Rheinland.

Frequently asked questions

From what age should kids wear knee and elbow pads?

As soon as they ride anything with wheels. Our 99FLIPS FLASH set starts at size XS for kids from about age 3 — balance bike and scooter age, when falls are frequent but low-speed.

How do I get my kid to actually keep the pads on?

Let them pick the design. Bright colors and patterns (that is the whole idea behind 99FLIPS) turn protective gear from a chore into part of the outfit. Light, breathable sets also help — hot, heavy pads come off fast.

Should I buy pads with room to grow?

Yes, within limits. Extra-long adjustable closures let a set grow with your child for a season or two. But a pad that slides around in a fall protects poorly — if your child is at the very bottom of a size range, take the smaller size.

Are wrist guards important for children?

Very. Kids instinctively catch falls with their hands. Wrist guards with stiff splints keep the wrist from bending backwards — that is why every SKATEWIZ and 99FLIPS set includes them.
